Research Interests

I conduct research in establishing and studying private clouds, migrating and adapting scientific/enterprise computing applications to the cloud, mobile web and cloud services, sensor data analysis, IoT and designing cloud economic and deployment models.

Short Biography

Professional:

Satish Narayana Srirama is a Research Professor and the head of the Mobile & Cloud Lab at the Institute of Computer Science, University of Tartu, Estonia and a Visiting Professor at University of Hyderabad, India. He received his PhD in computer science from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. His current research focuses on cloud computing, mobile web services, mobile cloud, Internet of Things, fog computing, migrating scientific computing and enterprise applications to the cloud and large-scale data analytics on the cloud. He is IEEE Senior Member, an Editor of Wiley Software: Practice and Experience, a 49 year old Journal, was an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions in Cloud Computing and a program committee member of several international conferences and workshops. Dr. Srirama has co-authored over 130 refereed scientific publications in international conferences and journals. Dr. Srirama has successfully managed several national, international and enterprise collaborative research grants and projects.

Personal:

Satish Narayana Srirama was born in Peddapadmapuram, a small village in Srikakulam Dist, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Completed Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Systems Engineering, from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, India, during Jun' 95 - Apr' 99.
After Engineering, he worked in Indian software industry as 'Software Engineer', before joining for Masters at RWTH Aachen University.
Completed his Master of Sciences (M.Sc.) in Software Systems Engineering, from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, during Oct' 02 - Jul' 04.
Joined the Information Systems and Databases Group (Informatik 5), RWTH Aachen University, Germany as a PhD student, at the beginning of November 2004.
He was also a visiting researcher at Ericsson Research, Aachen, during 2003 - 2008.
Finished his doctoral (PhD) thesis on "Mobile Hosts in Enterprise Service Integration" during September 2008.
Worked as Postdoc @ Information Systems and Databases Group, RWTH Aachen University, Germany , during Oct' 08 - Jul' 09.
Joined as a Researcher @ Institute of computer science, University of Tartu, Estonia, in July 2009. Promoted to Senior Researcher in 2011 and to Associate Professor in 2012. Currently working as Research Professor since Jan' 2018.
