Dear Colleagues,

The Institute of Mathematics of the University of Tartu in collaboration with Estonian Doctoral School in Mathematics and Statistics will organize the workshop

"Algebra and its applications"
on May 8-10, 2015,
at Marguse Holiday Centre, Nüpli village, Valga county, Estonia.

This annual spring workshop has traditionally attracted mathematicians interested in various areas of algebra such as universal algebra, semigroup theory, group theory, lattice theory, category theory and linear algebra. Also, we always welcome talks on applications of algebra in other disciplines, such as computer science, topology, geometry etc.

The website of the workshop is at http://math.ut.ee/~vlaan/kaariku/ . The working language of the workshop is English.

All participants will be offered an opportunity to present a 25-minutes talk or a 50-minutes talk. Those who wish to give a talk are asked to send us the abstract prepared using this template file. For a presentation, it is possible to use a laptop computer with a projector, or a whiteboard.

The workshop will take place at Marguse Holiday Centre (http://www.marguse.ee/) in South-Estonia, Nüpli village, Valga county, very close to the small town Otepää. This is about 45 km to the south from Tartu. The event starts in Friday afternoon and ends at Sunday noon. The transportation between Tartu and Mokko will be arranged by the organizers.

There is no participation fee for the workshop. The cost of accommodation in a twin room (for 2 nights, including breakfast) is 30 euros. The meals will cost 38 euros. If you wish to have single accommodation, please let us know about it in advance, we shall see if we manage to arrange it. The costs of PhD students of the doctoral school, their supervisors and all lecturers are covered by the doctoral school.

Please let us know if you wish to participate in the workshop by sending us by e-mail the registration form below, and also please feel free to inform your possibly interested colleagues or students about the workshop. The deadline for registration and sending an abstract is April 20. We appreciate if you let us know about your participation earlier than that date.
