PRACTICAL INFORMATION Travel The "standard" way to come to Tartu is to arrive to Tallinn (by plane, or by ferry from Finland and Sweden, train is not an option), and to take bus to Tartu (2.5 hours, roughly two buses per hour; see time schedule). We recommend to take taxi from the airport to bus terminal (just a few km away, "bussijaam" in Estonian). Bus ticket can be bought from a cashier, or directly from the driver, bus ticket to Tartu will cost about 10 EUR. There are just two flights per day directly to Tartu: from Riga (departure 20.15, arrival 21.05) and Tallinn (23.45 - 00.30) which may be used if there are suitable connections. Please consider that leaving with an early morning flight from Tallinn may be inconvenient: you should either take the 2.50 a.m. bus from Tartu to Tallinn (may need to pre-book, we can help), or leave to Tallinn on the previous night already. Fortunately, all buses from Tartu to Tallinn stop at the Tallinn airport. If you arrive to Tartu airport, you may take taxi to the hotel (about 10 EUR), or use the Airport Shuttle which will take you to any destination in the town for 3 EUR per person. If you arrive to Tartu bus terminal, you may walk to hotel London (upstream, or NW, ca 800 m), or take taxi (3 EUR). See a zoomable map with important objects indicated, the key is in the bottom left. Accommodation The venue of the meeting - hotel London - is pre-booked, you need not contact the hotel beforehand. However, if you plan to arrive earlier than on April 27, or leave later than on May 1, please contact the hotel directly to make a reservation. See the homepage of the Hotel London. |
