Kunda Cement Factory

Story

It was built in the 1870s to produce cement. Around 10 years later another factory was built adjacent to the first one in order to supply the growing cement demand. The overall area of the plant got bigger which has been more or less preserved until today. After World War II, the old factory production decreased drastically, the company was nationalized under the Soviet rule and soon begun the modernization process. New factory was built while the old one was left abandoned.
